Week 8: Online Applications & Tools
I couldnt access Zoho so i had a play around in Google docs, it was good because i didnt have to go and create a new password with them just used my hotmail account. so yeah i think the best thing about these online applications is that they have heaps and heaps of different styling tools to use and you don't have to worry about about different software versions or file types as you email documents or move from PC to PC. I also understand that they allow other people to edit or add to the documents like with wikis.! awesome. Going back a week-i had a look at the auckland city council libraries bebo page..it's awesome! i really liked it and reckon its a good way to promote and keep in touch with the patrons and youth. Can we get one?

Week 9: Podcasts, Video and ebooks
So I had a look around Youtube.com and found the video below to add to this blog. It is a song/speech that i love. I think Youtube is awesome, Its got everything on it, the Library Dominoes were awesome as well. The good thing about Youtube is that there is so much to see and i also love the way you can create your own account and add all your favourite vids to it so that you can rewatch them. Some people leave silly comments buts hey, everyones entitled to their opinion right?! Overall i think youtubes a lot of fun and an awesome way of communication. Maybe we could create Manukau Libraries Youtube vidz to promote our services...hmmmm..maybe...not?! haha

Week 7: Social Networking
I'm doing this step at work so i am unable to access bebo and youtube and sites like that from the infopod, however the goodnews is, i already know how to use them. I have a current bebo page www.bebo.com/o00rix00o and go on when i get time, im not as finad as i used to be back in high school, i like it tho, its a good way like all the other sites to keep in touch with friends and family and see what they're up to (photos).I've had a little look at myspace and facebook before but i'm not to interested in them, i think myspace is confusing and facebook...well im not really interested, both their applications are cool though. but yea i prefer bebo.
Week 6: Tagging, Folksonomies & Technorati
For this week, i looked around del.icio.us it was rather long and complicated i reckon, but i got through. I've set up my own delicious account and bookmarked some sites that i like, thats the fun bit! once you start adding sites, it becomes very easy to use and i think its a good searching tool, because there are so many sites associated with the tags, you could find something relevant that you didnt even think of when you started the search, and thats just one benefit of tagging!

Week Five: Wikis
I took a look at the wiki sites posted on the web 2.0 blog...WOW! i didn't even know that library wikis existed, they're awesome. A place where anyone can access information on a wide variety of books and topics. But the thing i like most is that the information poseted is done by Librarians around the world. I think creating a manukau libraries wiki would be beneficial to both us and our patrons and a great way to promote our services.
Week 4: Flickr
So I've set up a Flickr account and added some photos. The tutorial was very easy to understand and good because there was just enough info. I then proceeded to create my account which you can access from the Test Post below. I've tagged this photo' Manukau Learning 2.0' so now people who want to know about us can click on the tag and see all our photos what a good idea! so yes its there but not much photos have been uploaded...yet!
